The Turner Sisters Step Into the Spotlight, Guided by an Acclaimed Storyteller

Desiree and Mariah Turner, the sister duo behind the newly founded production company Prose & Page Turners, are stepping boldly into Hollywood’s creative arena. With their first feature film, The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent, written and directed by acclaimed producer Omar Parker, the sisters are learning the art and science of producing from one of the industry’s most multifaceted creators. Today, we take a look at some of the things they save they have learned in the past few months.

Founded in 2025, Prose & Page Turners is focused on intellectual property development and creative writing. Joining them in this venture is veteran producer Jonathan Gower, who previously collaborated with Parker on the award-winning short Salta and the hit YouTube platform Captain’s Log, which earned a Silver Play Button for surpassing 100,000 subscribers. Together, the trio is developing a slate of projects that stretch into 2028 and beyond, including Providence, an epic action-adventure novel slated for release in December 2025.

But for the Turner sisters, the true education has come through Parker’s mentorship. Known for his disciplined storytelling and expansive production background—from indie films to billion-view digital media, Parker has become both a creative compass and a pragmatic guide.

“Producing starts with protecting the story,” Parker told the sisters early in development. He emphasized that every decision, from budgeting to casting, begins with a clear understanding of the film’s emotional core. That philosophy has shaped the Turners’ approach to their debut project. “Omar pushed us to ask what the audience should feel in every moment,” said Desiree. “It changed the way we looked at scenes and structure.”

One of Parker’s most consistent lessons centers on simplicity and focus. He often reminds his collaborators that clarity is a producer’s most valuable asset. “If you can’t articulate your story in a sentence, you don’t yet know it,” he told the sisters. Under his direction, the pair learned to strip away excess. Scenes that didn’t advance character or theme were rewritten, merged, or removed entirely. That precision, Parker said, saves both time and money once cameras roll.

Equally important has been Parker’s guidance on leadership and communication. On set, he believes, clarity of authority prevents chaos. He taught the sisters to establish a chain of creative command that empowers department heads but leaves no question about final calls. “Filmmaking is a symphony,” Parker explained. “Someone has to keep time, but everyone must feel heard.” Mariah, who will soon be in charge of thousands on set, said the lesson has made her a more confident producer. “He taught us that good leadership isn’t about control. It’s about trust and structure.”

Parker’s mentorship also extends to practical production planning. He walked the Turners through building realistic shooting schedules, creating contingency budgets, and anticipating delays. “Hope for sunshine, plan for rain,” he told them, a mantra they’ve adopted on every project since. Parker insists that flexibility is a producer’s secret weapon, reminding them that agility in the face of change is what separates the professionals from the hopefuls.

Beyond logistics, Parker has opened the sisters’ eyes to the business of storytelling. He has shown them how to navigate intellectual property rights, option agreements, and distribution landscapes that evolve faster than any one platform. “Owning your IP is owning your future,” Parker advised. That philosophy underpins Prose & Page Turners’ strategy to pair screen content with novels and digital tie-ins, creating multiple revenue paths from a single idea.

The sisters have also absorbed Parker’s insights into screenwriting. He encouraged them to prioritize character choices over exposition and to build emotion through action rather than dialogue. “Every line should cost something,” he told them. “If it doesn’t change a character or move the story, cut it.” Through this process, the sisters have developed a sharper instinct for pacing and tone—skills they now apply to their company’s broader creative slate.

Marketing and audience engagement have been another cornerstone of Parker’s mentorship. Drawing from his digital media success with Captain’s Log and the TBNR network, Parker has taught the Turners to think of audiences as communities, not markets. He advised them to build anticipation early through behind-the-scenes features, social media storytelling, and interactive content. “People don’t just want to watch,” he said. “They want to belong.”

Perhaps the most transformative lesson, however, has been about resilience. Parker’s career, spanning film festivals, YouTube empires, and global production, has given him perspective on failure and adaptation. He reminded the sisters that every production has moments of uncertainty. “Filmmaking,” he told them, “is managing chaos with grace.”

For Desiree and Mariah, that wisdom has already proven essential. “Omar has a way of turning every obstacle into a learning opportunity,” said Mariah. “He’s shown us that success isn’t about avoiding problems but facing them with preparation.”

As Prose & Page Turners moves toward releasing The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent, the Turner sisters stand as part of a new generation of producers who blend narrative craft with entrepreneurial insight. Their collaboration with Parker and Gower marks not just the launch of a film, but the start of a creative enterprise built on mentorship, mastery, and meticulous storytelling.

And while their journey is just beginning, Parker’s lessons, on vision, leadership, and the power of story, have already shaped their foundation. As Desiree puts it, “We came to produce a film, but what we’re really learning is how to tell stories that last.”
