Montana Internet, the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Helena, is now offering fiber internet to several underserved areas across Lewis & Clark County. The company has recently announced an initiative to connect hundreds of homes and businesses in Helena Valley Northeast, specifically along Lincoln Road between I-15 and the Causeway.
Towards the end of last year, the company’s in-house fiber crew completed nine miles of new backbone construction between Fox Ridge Golf Course and Collins Drive. This was a substantial undertaking that involved a complex aerial crossing at the Causeway Bridge. On February 12th of this year, the company completed the construction, lit up its fiber optic backbone, and installed the first-ever fiber optic connection in the Northeast Valley at a home on Fantasy Road.
Thanks to this project, Montana Internet is providing access to the transformative advantages of fiber optic speeds and reliability to hundreds of nearby residents and businesses.
According to Lacey Brelje, Montana Internet’s Chief Operating Officer, affordability is at the heart of the Company’s fiber strategy. “We aren’t only focused on building Montana’s network of the future. We also want to ensure that every Montanan can afford access.” The provider offers residential fiber plans starting at a highly competitive rate of only $65 per month, with pricing guaranteed for life. “We believe that exceptional internet should be accessible to all without contracts, hidden fees, price increases, or the necessity to bundle services you don’t need,” said Brelje.
Montana Internet has been receiving positive feedback from its customers who have experienced the benefits of the provider’s fiber service. Rodger McMillan, a homeowner located on Lake Helena Drive, expressed gratitude for the blazing-fast fiber internet connection and praised the helpfulness of the Montana Internet team. Joe Beausoleil, a customer located near Fox Ridge Golf Course, commended the exceptional quality of service and highlighted their amazement at the painless fiber installation process. To celebrate their recent achievements, Montana Internet will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Causeway Bridge in early May. The event will be attended by their entire team, including company founders and board members, Lewis & Clark County representatives, customer champions, and partners who played a crucial role in making their expansion to the Northeast Valley possible. This celebration also commemorates Montana Internet’s 30th anniversary, showcasing decades of service to communities across Southwestern Montana.
Montana Internet has built 13 “fiberhoods” in the Helena region, with another 10 slated for completion this year. They also offer fiber internet in select areas of Boulder and Clancy. But they aren’t just bringing fiber to residential customers. The company’s fiber network feeds Saint Peter’s Hospital, Carroll College, the Helena Regional Airport, all five East Helena Public Schools, Boulder City offices, and Jefferson County’s internal network, to name a few.
