Since his high school years, working as a math and science tutor, teaching has been an essential part of the life of Luis Alvarado, the founder and CEO of Unlimited Leverage. Today, in his work as a DeFi investment mentor, Luis feels a deep sense of fulfillment in helping others understand the crypto market and reach financial independence.
“Teaching has always been one of my highest values,” expressed Luis during a recent video interview. “It is something that I have loved to do since I can remember.”
Nowadays, Luis is a thriving DeFi investor and a renowned DeFi investment mentor. He has years of experience teaching other driven investors to generate high-return passive income streams and achieve financial independence. In a recent Zoom interview back in January, Luis sat to discuss what motivated him to launch his passive income accelerator program and become a DeFi investment mentor.
Even before mentoring others about DeFi investment, crypto, and the blockchain, teaching had been a fundamental part of Luis’ life and career. Whether as a math and science tutor during high school or eventually as a breakdance choreographer for the University of Central Florida, Luis has always possessed an acute passion for educating others.
“I’ve always liked the idea of the art of teaching,” said Luis emphatically. “I like taking a complex concept and then breaking it down so that it can resonate with anyone regardless of their age.”
After building a thriving career as a DeFi investor, Luis brought his passion for teaching into this industry. At his passive income accelerator program, he simplifies such a complex subject as the crypto market and makes it accessible to people of all ages, from their teens to their 70s.
“I do have people in my program who are that age, and it is so cool and satisfying to see how they understand it so easily,” said Luis.

Jokingly, he assures that if his mother – who maintains the old-style, you-gotta-be-a-professional, Latino working philosophy – could learn how to generate passive income through crypto, anyone can do it.
“My mom would tell her friends that I was still an engineer because she didn’t understand how I was making money online,” recalled Luis. “If I was able to get my mom to understand it and have her believe in DeFi, I knew I could teach it to other people.”
When Luis first dabbled in DeFi investment, he knew that at one point, he would direct his career towards teaching this subject to others. His goal was to achieve financial independence and use that newly gained freedom to mentor other investors and impact their lives.
“I always had a love for teaching, and it was always the most logical next step,” said Luis. “With passive income, you get to a point where you are ‘retired,’ and you don’t have to do work, but that’s not fun; you are literally unfulfilled.”
