Through boundless self-reflection, and wistful lyrical breakthroughs, Jake Swamp and The Pine (aka Drew Zieff) is eager to present his genre-bending album, Simpson And Banks, now streaming on all major platforms. This welcoming 10 track album, is a sincere glance into the trials and tribulations that Zieff has experienced throughout the years. This project is a recipe of sounds from artists including Josh Gold (production), Don Mitchell (lead guitar, harmonies, banjo, lap steel), Corinna Smith (violin), Francis Hickey (bass), Auyon Mukharji (Mandolin), and Jonathan Ulman (drums). These artists were able to marry their unique sounds together to truly flow into each single on the album and bring Zieff’s vision to life. When asked about this creative process, Zieff says, “I didn’t want to write each part for the musicians I worked with – they all know their instruments better than I do, so I relied on their expertise to make the song better than I could.” This extension of creative power has truly brought each single to life, allowing a celebration of talent to pour into a vibrantly relatable space for listeners everywhere.
Jake Swamp and The Pines’ most recent releases, “Empty Stomachs and Bloodshot Eyes” and “Drive, Drive, Drive,” are currently streaming on all major platforms. These singles serve as a captivating snapshot of the album and add to the anticipation of the release of Simpson And Banks. “Cigarettes and Coffee” is a freeing upbeat song showcasing uplifting instrumentals and a quirky storyline sprinkled with rich vocals reminiscent of John Mayer. Meanwhile, “Go By Darkness” takes on a smoother contemporary folk feel as the flowing guitar and subtle rock flare shape the melody into Zieff’s comforting vocals. These are just a few of the highly anticipated tracks showcasing the folksy sound listeners have grown to love with subtle pop rock twists. Listeners can stream Simpson And Banks on all major streaming platforms on December 14th.
