The Founder of Longevity Mountain Herbs
The person behind Longevity Mountain Herbs, master herbalist Mark Hammer, has studied Chinese medicine and apprenticed at the Scientific American Hanyak Institute (SAHI). Mr. Hammer came to Chinese medicine in the traditional manner where martial artists, looking to improve their athleticism, health and longevity, discovered Chinese medicine doctors to train them by apprenticeship. Formal university education was not well established in the US except on the West coast which was in its early stages. Hammer found a conventionally trained, medical research chemist who reverted back to his father’s medicine (Chinese medicine) for recovery from diabetes. In 1998, Hammer began working with George Chun, director of SAHI, in the last decade of his 30 year career as a Chinese medicine practitioner. Mr. Hammer is certified as a Level I, II, and Advanced Chinese Medicine practitioner (Level III). Hammer created a more structured assessment framework for determining client ailments and imbalances in 2002. He devised formulas for the majority of mental health issues in 2003. Hammer has been practicing as a master herbalist for over three decades now.
