The Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI) has officially launched the America 500 Campaign, a significant initiative aimed at raising $25 million to bolster programs that educate and empower the next generation of leaders dedicated to liberty. This campaign comes as the nation prepares to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.
In an announcement, ISI President and CEO John A. Burtka IV emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This is a chance to cast a vision for the next 250 years of American greatness and goodness.” The campaign aims to honor the values of prudence and courage that defined the Founding Fathers while investing in the leadership and virtues necessary for the long-term renewal of American civil society.
The funds raised through the America 500 Education Fund will facilitate a variety of educational endeavors. Contributions will support academic and student journalism, enhance educational media initiatives, and strengthen the organization’s core infrastructure. The goal is to expand ISI’s “Reach, Teach, Launch” educational model that introduces students to conservative thought and the broader Western tradition.
ISI’s efforts include in-person, faculty-led programs on college campuses that aim to foster deep intellectual formation and community among undergraduate students. Additionally, initiatives like the Honors Program and events such as ISI’s annual Homecoming Weekend are designed to launch selective, advanced experiences for aspiring leaders.
The Institute’s recent accomplishments highlight its commitment to growth and educational outreach. Notably, in 2023, ISI inaugurated the Linda L. Bean Conference Center at its Delaware headquarters. For the upcoming academic year, ISI has planned 250 educational events across the country, marking a substantial 67 percent increase in programming compared to previous years.
